My Experience with Clawdbot

I can't seem to get Clawdbot/Openclaw off of my Twitter feed for the past few weeks. For those unfamiliar, it's an AI assistant running on your machine that serves as an interface for Codex/Claude to interact with your actual filesystem. It can be configured to browse the internet, respond to emails and messages, and even monitor your Github for any issues, working as a 24/7 vulnerability protection, developer, and tech lead. I decided to give it a try, and I'm glad I did. It's a fun way to interact with your machine, and it's a great way to get started with AI. I configured it to run on my Mac whenever it is on, and I am able to message it through my terminal or via Telegram. I currently have it set up to monitor my job applications email, notifying me of any action items on a given day. It is very tempting to buy a Mac Mini like AI bros on Twitter who have theirs running any business operations overnight, but I am not quite ready to drop $600 on something with such serious security risks. Perhaps one day. However, in interacting with it, it is able to take in an incredible amount of context from your machine to personalize responses in a way a web interface or even Cursor cannot at the moment. It really feels like the next generation in agentic development, and I'm excited to see where it goes. Super excited at the commitment the creator has put forth to keep the project open source and accessible to all. Sorry if this came off a bit rambly, just wanted to share some quick thoughts before I dive in to make it even more efficient.
